Culture Through Pandanus Weaving

Please be aware that due to Cultural Protocol’s and with this particular workshop being for women only, this class will be facilitated in a private room within the building.

Tandanya are fortunate enough to be hosting 2 amazing Pandanus Weavers who will be visiting us from Mimi Arts in Katherine Northern Territory.

If you’ve ever wondered about the traditional processes of collecting and dying Pandanus for the purpose of weaving, come on down to Tandanya. We are inviting all interested weavers and community members to come and join us for a 3 hour Pandanus Weaving session. If you’ve only just started weaving or consider yourself an expert or are just interested in having a yarn about the traditional practices, come join us.

All materials have been collected, stripped, dyed and dried for these sessions.
