In 2016 Tandanya introduced the ‘Music Series’ to the Spirit Festival Presents program. During a 2 month period we showcased 3 music nights with 18 Aboriginal artist from interstate and locally. It proved to be an absolute success and something we wanted to continue. Unfortunately it will only be showcased according to funding.

 

Due to the enormous success of the previous year, Tandanya would like to keep the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community engaged with monthly performances in Tandanya’s Arts Café. Through community discussions, we have asked our elders what they would like to see more of at Tandanya. There answer, “a night of music and dancing”. Keeping to the original plan of community input and engagement.

 

On Friday the 1st September 2017, Tandanya held its first ‘Acoustic Night’ in Tandanya’s Theatre. The night was catered for by Tandanya’s Culture and Arts Team. The night was a relaxed evening with live music provided by Warren Milera and Troy Rigney with a few country classics as well as something from his album.

 

A night of great entertainment with an intermit atmosphere in Tandanya’s Art Café.
